It’s the day before Lent, a day known in Pennsylvania Dutch country as “stuff yer face with glorious fried balls of dough covered in sugah!”  One of my most favorite days of the year.


To those of you how may or may not be familiar with “fasnachts,” it’s more or less a doughnut.  But a true fasnacht is So. Much. More.  Handmade.  Crunchy but soft.  Pure heaven.

And I completely forgot it was today.  I’m kicking myself over here.  Le sigh.
